Follow PIKE
Born in Grand Rapids, MI. and current resident of Denver, CO. PIKE is a hip-hop producer whose journey into the world of music began with an unexpected twist. In the 6th grade, PIKE picked up the trumpet, not knowing that this decision would ultimately shape his destiny. During his High School years, he began playing in concerts with the sounds of symphonic and jazz band. Eventually moving his way up to first chair. However, it wasn't until the 8th grade that PIKE's musical path took a sharp turn. A friend introduced him to a treasure trove of hip-hop classics, gifting him CDs featuring the iconic sounds of Dr. Dre, Outkast, and ODB.

This serendipitous encounter with hip-hop proved to be a game-changer for PIKE. The rhythmic beats, clever wordplay, and the raw, unapologetic energy of the genre resonated with him on a profound level. From that moment on, he was hooked. PIKE stumbled upon underground rap and was instantly captivated. Listening to artists like, Atmosphere, with his introspective lyricism and Aesop Rock's intricate wordplay, which resonated deeply with PIKE. Their authenticity and storytelling transported him to a different dimension, sparking an obsession that would shape his own musical journey. In 2007 PIKE's dreams took him to the heart of the Rockies, where he enrolled in the University of Colorado's esteemed music program. It was here that transformed and molded his hobby into the start of a life-long career.

Today, PIKE continues to push the boundaries of hip-hop production, crafting tracks that resonate with listeners far and wide. His pursuit from a young trumpet player to a hip-hop maestro is a testament to the transformative power of music and the endless possibilities that come with following one's passion. "IN HIS OWN WORDS"
Grind Mode Cypher - PennsylMania Vol. 9 is the most memorable cypher I have been part of as a producer, because this was my first appearance with the movement. First one I spit on was Grind Mode Cypher - Denver Vol. 7,which I also produced. I Loved the energy and support. People packed the venue in Denver and it was really cool to see the process in person of how the cyphers come together.

My sound is inspired by underground hip hop, early 2000’s emo music and classic 70’s funk and soul. Producers that I really look up to are Ant from Atmosphere, Kno from Cunninglyguists, Alchemist, Jake One, DJ Premier, Dilla, Kanye and Dr. Dre.
I am now a full time audio engineer, music producer and a member of the Grammy Voting Committee. I have had music placed in commercials for Quickbooks with Dj Khaled, and in shows on Netflix, BET and A&E. I am just finishing up composing music for a 6 episode digital video series. My lofi instrumental side project Third and Forever has over 100k plays and was featured on several Spotify Editorial Playlists. As an artist and DJ I have opened for artists like Prof, Grieves, Riff Raff, Geto Boys and Bone Thugs.
My main goal is to continue to work full time as a producer and artist, while making great music with artists I enjoy and eventually to be nominated for a Grammy.
