Follow Don Pera

Don Pera, the renowned rapper hailing from the grimy streets of Corona Queens, New York, is a testament to the power of music as a lifeline out of adversity. Born and raised in one of Queens' most challenging neighborhoods, Pera's journey from the clutches of drugs and crime to becoming a respected artist is both inspiring and emblematic of the transformative potential of hip-hop.

With a newfound passion for hip-hop, he began to hone his skills as an artist. He found solace in writing and rapping, channeling his struggles and experiences into his music. Rather than succumbing to the pitfalls that ensnared so many of his peers, Pera used his art as a powerful instrument for self-improvement and a means to uplift those around him.

As his talent grew, so did his reputation in the local hip-hop scene. His lyrics were raw, honest, and reflective of the harsh realities he had witnessed and endured. Pera is a voice for those who had been silenced by their circumstances, a beacon of hope in the midst of despair.

Through sheer determination and unwavering commitment to his craft, his music began to resonate beyond the confines of Corona's streets. He caught the attention of music producers and promoters who recognized his unique storytelling ability and authenticity. Pera's journey from the streets to the recording studio has been marked by countless late-night sessions, hustling for opportunities, and honing his lyrical prowess.

Today, Don Pera stands as a symbol of resilience and determination. His music has not only provided him with an escape from the grip of drugs and crime but has also offered hope to countless others facing similar challenges in their lives. He uses his platform to shed light on the struggles of his community and advocate for change.

"IN HIS OWN WORDS"

Grind Mode Cypher - New York Vol. 1 is my most memorable cypher. Coming from NYC and being around New England rappers was a different feel.

“I was exposed to hip-hop by my estranged older brother. He put me on to amazing artists such as Big L, Big Pun, Nas, 2 Pac, Biggie, Mobb Deep, M.O.P., D.M.X., Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Wu-Tang, and so much more.

My top influences have to be Kool G Rap, Big Pun, Nas. As I enter this new stage of my artistry, Atmosphere & Evidence are in heavy rotation.

I began creating music as a way to escape my situation at home. I grew up in a poor neighborhood full of rats, roaches, and gang violence. My father and brother were no strangers to the law and writing rhymes in a notebook kept me off the streets and away from the glitz and glamour that was the drug dealer scene of the 2000’s in NYC

My goal is to broaden my audience and reach more people. Not through plays and views, but actually reaching and touching people in their souls, down to their core.

My latest project “Doped Up Devil”  The Ep By Poet On Drugs, Produced By: C-Lance is available now!
